Spring in Texas

There are so many things I like about Spring in Texas. First of all I love that it comes early - because Spring is something that I love. It doesn't carry with it all the trumpeting granduer of some springs - I feel more like Spring here is more subtle... The days are warmer, the trees begin to blossom, then you have a chilly day.... the Oak leaves begin to fall... and suddenly the roses are sending out the new shoots of growth... and one day, the sun shines through, you open the windows, and there you are.. it is spring!

The cool of the night

I love to be up when everyone else in my house is asleep. The house is quiet. There are no screams, or "Mom she hit me's" going on. There is nobody asking me for help, or to do something for them. I am alone in the dark quiet. It is in these times that I think and consider, answer my own questions and stay in touch. And even in my alone-ness I am not alone. Jesus is here with me. I love it. "I will never leave you or forsake you" is what he said. There is such comfort in that.

Singing in church

My sweet girl sang in church today with all of the kids! It was so great!

For my girl ..Honey I am so proud of you! I can't believe you are almost old enough to be considered a "big girl" and you are growing so much! Daddy and I are so pleased to watch you praising the Lord in the way that you do - with all your heart!

Becky is coming!

I am thrilled to see a dear friend from college today - Becky! She has been out of the country for a while and we have prayed for her and been able to listen along the way to her exciting and fun adventures. The girls and Dennis don't know Becky much, so I am excited to be able to share her with them. She will be staying with us for possibly 2 nights... I can't wait! Annelise is excited because she gets to sleep in her "camping bed" - a little cot we found at Sam's club that has princesses on it. Welcome Becky!

Fall is in the Air

I love the change of seasons! Lately we have been enjoying getting outside and just breathing in the cooler morning air. Don't assume our entire day is full of cool air - South Texas still has temps in the 80's here in October, from time to time, but the mornings are cool and sunny and it reminds me again of why I love living here!
